I wish I had an animation DVD of the epic," Varun Sanyal, 10 a student of Class 5 in Gurgaon, told IANS.

Varun was at the Reliance Timeout shop with his father, economist Sanjeev Sanyal and younger brother to take part in a painting competition themed on the epic and listen to author Namita Gokhale read out from her book The Puffin Mahabharata, a illustrated edition of the epic for children.

The book was unveiled at the Reliance Timeout bookstore on Saturday.

Earth and Jeeval, students of Class 3 and Class I at the Amity International School in Gurgaon, love listening to their mother read from the "Mahabharata".

"We love the stories about Lord Krishna. Since we cannot read, Mama reads out to us. The tales are grand," the siblings chorused.

The Puffin Mahabharata published by Penguin-Books India, has simplified the epic into 176 small anecdotes with colourful illustrations by artist and animation filmmaker Suddhasattwa Basu.

The book is based on the lores narrated by Suta, a traveller and story-teller, who had heard the tales of valour and sacrifice as a young boy from a sage Vaisampayana, a disciple of Vyasa, the seer who originally wrote the epic with the help of the lord Ganesha.

"It is the story of the Pandavas and the Kauravas, the hundred and five brothers and cousins who grew up playing the same games and learning from the same teachers. Yet they were so different in the way they understood the rules and the philosophy of battles," said writer Namita Gokhale, explaining the essence of the book to at least 50 children aged between 5-12 years at the sprawling store.

The book begins with an introductory tale on the genesis of Suta's Mahabharata and goes on to narrate the lores of princess Ganga and king Santanu of Hastinapura, the tale of Satyawati, Amba, the birth of Kauravas and Pandavas, Karna, the arrival of Lord Krishna and the battle of Kurukshetra in small 500-word anecdotes.

"Retelling the story with illustrations was an important experience for me as an author. I started writing the book six years ago when Penguin commissioned me. It was done in a rush like the way Ganesha and Vyasa scripted it together round-the-clock. I had a library full of different versions of Mahabharata, which I would read throughout the day and jot down the stories. It took me six months to write the book and another year to make the corrections," Gokhale told IANS.

Gokhale had in mind a target audience of young adults - "from 12 upwards who would understand the nuances."

According to her, almost all children in India are familiar with Mahabharata.”

The Best Comic Book Magazine for Kids – Champak

Yes, Champak is the most famous kid’s magazine. It is financial book review in terms of accounting. You can say it is the accounting book review from the MBA book. So, it will be review of accounting management. I am not going to write again that review but also I am going to share that review which is already published on the financial management blog. Below is full review:

"I have started this chapter from the theoretical point of view. So, there need to introduce about the financial accounting. It is an important part of management organization to control over the resources. In another way we can say that to run a business entity depends upon many resources like – land, labour, capital and management along with many persons like – engineer, MBAs and accountant to find out the financial performance of that entity. In the conclusion we can say without accounting we can not communicate with the outside world. People says it is the language of business but I think it not necessary of only business activities but also, it is also important for non-business activities also like – accounting for charitable institution, accounting is school or family etc.

In an organization accounting broadly known for:

1. Cost planning and cost control on the evaluation of people and activities.

2. Brand, products and customer categorization.

3. Strategic and tactical decisions for managers

4. Financial statements to investors, government authorities and other parties through external reporting.

Our goal through the financial accounting concepts:

Concept of accounting

Meaning of Accounting Trail

Accounting equation

Now we will discussion on accounting concepts. Theories show that “Accounting was born without notice and reared in neglect.” I also admit that accounting was not theorized 1st it was practiced 1st.

The Entity Concept

For a business man his business is an artificial entity distinct from its proprietor(s). A business man can have their own real estate, accounts, an other assets and he can be in partnership, proprietorship or corporate entity but he is not the whole entity of all the accounts. There can be single or sole entity depends on the business and distribution.

Double Entry Accounting

The accounting term has been defined by the American Institute of Accountants which is now known as American Institute of Certified Public Accounts. According to that accounting was, “the art of recording, classifying and summarizing in a significant manner and in terms of money, transactions and events which are, in part at least, of a financial character, an interpreting the results thereof.”

The main aspect of double entry is credit and debit. Here I want to share some thought about that chapter. I want share one of the post from a blog which is decent on the topic. Let’s read the chapter review from the SMU MBA book:

"Best examples of conflict are conflict between management and employees. Conflict a serious problem in any organization if the problem not handle properly.

Conflict Management Objectives from the MBA Book

Definition of Conflict

Outcome of Conflict

Forms of Conflict

Conflict Management Strategies

Stress

Causes of Stress

Stress Management

Crisis of Management

About the conflict in an organization there are many definitions by some academician. At 1st we will give some light on Gray and Starke’s theory of conflict management, “Conflict is behaviour by a person or group that is purposely designed to inhibit the attainment of goals by another person or group. This ‘purposeful inhibition may be active or passive.”

According to K. W. Thomas conflict is, “processes that begins when one party perceives that another party has negatively affected or is about to negatively affect, something the first party cares about.”

At last I give one more definition about conflict by B. Kabanoff, “Conflict refers to a disagreement, opposition, or struggle between two or more individuals or groups. It results from incompatible influence attempts between and within individuals, groups or organizations.”

In the age of globalization company has conflicts in terms of people personality, values, attitudes, perceptions, languages, cultures and national backgrounds.

Now, we will discuss about outcomes of conflicts. Outcome of conflicts is the results of conflicts. Conflicts has two consequences – Positive and Negative.

Positive consequences of conflicts are:

Leads to new ideas

Stimulates Creativity

Motivates changes

Promotes Organizational vitality

Helps Individual and Groups

Indicate Problems

Negative consequences of conflicts are:

Diverts energy from work

Wastes of resources

Creates negative climate

Breaks down group cohesion

Increase hostility and aggressive behaviours

Conflicts are divided into two parts – Functional Conflict and Dysfunctional conflict.

Functional conflicts support the goals of the group and improve its performance while dysfunctional conflict hinders the group performance.

In this chapter now we have to discuss about sources of organizational conflict. These are:

Line and Staff Competition

Organization-Individual Disagreements

Overlapping Responsibilities

Functional Interdependence

Personality Clashes

Disagreement over Goals

Flow of Work

Conflict can be divide into two forms also – Intra-Individual or Interpersonal conflict. An Individual can get experience about cognitive conflict, affective conflict, inter-role conflict, intra-role conflict and personal-role conflict.

Strategies of Conflict Management

In the strategies of conflict management we can include – avoiding, accommodating, competing, compromising and collaborating which is style of management.

Negotiation

In this chapter we have to study about negotiation also. Negotiation is a process by which we can define conflict what they are willing to give and accept in return. Negotiation has been including in this chapter because it is a part of conflict management. Negotiation process solves management conflicts towards the employees.

There can be some negotiation steps:

Preparation

Evaluation of Alternatives

Identifying Interests

Bargains

In every country there are different cultural differences in negotiation. Like Japanese give the high importance of emotional sensitivity while for North American it has no high value.

In the negotiation there are two major approaches – Distributive Bargaining and Integrative Negotiation.

In today world there are more value of third-party negotiators who known as – mediator, arbitrator, consultant, inquisitor and delegator or avoider.

Stress

Stress is exceeding complex. Here I will give some definition which has been proposed by theoreticians. According to J. C quick and J. D Quick, “Stress, or the stress response, is the unconscious preparation to fight or flee a person experiences when faced with any demand.”

Another definition from Mikhail is also very important, “Stress refers to a psychological and physiological state that result when certain features of an individual’s environment challenge that person, creating an actual or perceived imbalance between demand and capability to adjust that results in a non-specific response.”

I think stress creates from our environmental situation. Stress affects normally our health.

The causes of stress

After having study the definition of stress we need to know about causes of stress. In the causes of stress we can introduce conflict.

There is some cause of stress:

Inner conflicts

Perceptual influences

Thresholds of stress

Motivational level

Stress value can be measured by a rating scale. These are:

If a person feels about the spouse death its mean value is 100. Like that when a person gets notice of divorce then stress value mean of 73 scales.

In this chapter we will study about two type of behaviour pattern – A and B.

In pattern of “A” behaviour we see these:

Impatience

Aggressiveness

Hostility

Restlessness

Devotion to work

Feeling of Intense time Pressure

Attempts to several things at once

In the type of “B” behaviour pattern we can summarize it as:

Never suffer from a sense of time urgency

Feel no need to display any achievement

Play for fun

To manage stress we can follow some level which can be:

Individual Level

Organisation Level

Crisis Management

It is the last chapter of conflict management. Crisis management is an issue in business world. It is a big issue for now. We can categories crisis management.

Types of Crisis

Natural Disaster

Environmental disaster

Industrial accident

Shortfall in demand

At last, we can say conflict can be a serious problem for a company or organisatioin."

Source Via :Conflict Management – MBA Book

SMU Book Review From blog

Recently, I visit a well established blog which is on MBA education. It was:

The author received 40 per cent of the total votes cast in an online poll, beating Mary Norton’s The Borrowers and Alan Garner’s The Owl Service.

The Top Ten “Carnegie of Carnegies” list was compiled by the organisers of Britain’s most prestigious prize in children’s literature, the CILIP Carnegie Medal.

The Carnegie does not offer a cash prize, but is sought after by children's writers because of its unique judging process. Personally I feel they got the initials right but not the name. I don’t know if the result would be the same in a hundred year’s time; maybe Philippa Pearce would win then.”

The top ten list drew criticism when it was released in April for not including some of the best-known and most successful children’s writers of the era. Enid Blyton, J. K. I have already wrote about Marx another book Das Capital which was a economical book. German Ideology was a Philosophical book which was written in 1845. It was Marx's initial book on the research of Philosophy for Phd. Degree.

In this book Marx has emphasized on Materialistic outlook of world. The book was for specially on Feurbach critiques. At first Marx was defined errors of Feurbach by this book. Dealing with this book Marx shown that materialistic concept of philosophy is dialectical not mechanism.

Feurbach was right when he was on nature but he was not right when he was on society in his theory. What was the basic error of Feurbach was concluded by this book. The German Ideology shows the German politics actually by German philosophy.

Economical book Reviews

I always recommend a book which is related to economics. I studied the book time to time. The writer is Karl Marx from 19th century. About the writer intellectual has decided that he was most intelligent person of 20th century.

I am talking about Das Capital. Das Capital is one of the most liked books by everybody. It is related to economics. The book is divided into 3 parts. Das Capital evolve question and solve the entire question related to economics.

In the book Marx has elaborated real economical problem which is related to human life. In the starting of book Marx has written its introduction. In the introduction he as define that the book is against capitalist system and evolve a new system socialist.

After having study the book you will be able to know all the exploitation of capitalist system and how capitalist system is out dated now. The book has been written after historical analysis and on the scientific thought.

Originally the book was written in German language. But soon it was translated in most of language.

About Business, Finance and Law books

What is the best way to getting the books? I will recommend for it library because all the aspect of business, finance and low books we can not find from only the books there should be diary, newspaper and review as well as raw data also. All the data can be available in the library only. However people want to buy these books.

Another place to find the books is your friends. If you have some friends related to these fields you can enjoy with these books. They should have collections of books. I think law books is the big problem to choosing in right way.

3rd way to getting business, finance and law books is go to online portal and buy from there you can get review there about that books but should have knowledge about that books before buying. You can't buy that books that is not in your knowledge.

I am talking about collecting of these books. To find out these books main resources are nowadays is web and search engines. I know fiction books in the world have their own importance. Without fictions books no one can know their life contradictions.

Fictions books are the part of literary books. These books just say about your life contradictions and their motions. So, in the world a writer is if famous then the cause behind this that he wrote fiction book.

Fiction writing can’t write everybody. There is some problem with this. If you are going to write these types of book then before it you have to read lots of books and will have to take lots of experience from real life.

I like those writers books which have wrote on real life and they were not professional writer who writes for money. Yes, I am talking about Premchand, Leo Tolstoy, Maxim Gorki, Turgnev etc.

They really deserve an honor for fictions books.

Children Books Reviews

There are many books for children but what books are liked by children? Children always like that books which have fantastic image with colourful. Most of the children like story books, comics books, puzzle books etc. But all the books are really grow their mind, thinking capacity?

It is said, “good books direct us in right directions”. Children always amuse and think hypothesis because they have no logic. They don't think on the basis of science. They are not concrete. So, if you provide a book to your child think before buying that.

In the market even in India there are many books for children like – Champak, Nandan, Suman Saurav etc. These are monthly magazine for children. Along with there are many famous comics for children. If your child addicted to all the books and magazine it is harmful for them.

You should provide some classical books with image to your child, some story books that can be grow their thinking capacity. Story reading makes broad mind because amusement gives new idea. So, give them lots of story book to read.

Political Books Reviews

Politics is need of the day.
